The Village, Church Farm has many exciting volunteering oppoutunities.

The village is run entirely by volunteers so it is a great chance to get involved at all levels. Our volunteers not only enjoy being in a friendly environment but they also have the opportunity to take qualifications in subjects that interest them. These qualifications can be very useful if volunteers  are trying to secure paid employment.

Here are some of our most common roles.

Grounds maintenance

If you have experience of commercial grounds mainteneance, or simple enjoy pottering in your garden we would love you to join us. We have a very large site which takes a lot of tending from grass cuting to dead heading flowers it all needs doing.

 

Catering

The Village Tea rooms is an important part of the site. If you would like to volunteer just a few hours a week to the tea room we will ensure you are trained in all the necessary skills needed to make your time with us is not only enjoyable but you will also learn new skills.

Retail

If you would like the oppourtunity to volunteer in our shop we would love to show you round. The shop is also the main entrance so you will get a oppourtunity to meet a lot of people as well as being part of a friendly team.

 

Customer Service

An important part of a visitors experience at The Village is the friendly greeting they receive and the knowledge of the team. If you are the type of person who likes to see people smile this could be the role for you. As a customer service volunteer your main role is to talk to our visitors and help them make the most of their visit. We will teach you about the collection so that you can talk knowledgeably about the items we have on show.

I was met by another volunteer who showed me round the site and explained everything to me. I met some of the other volunteers who were very friendly and soon I felt part of the team. Now when new volunteers arrive it is me who shows them round and I love it here”
