The Village Church Farm has many exciting volunteering opportunities
Museum Collection Development
Volunteering at the Village Church Farm is a great opportunity to get involved in your local community and develop new skills and experience for your CV – or just to meet people in your area. Our volunteers enjoy being in a friendly environment with the opportunity of training in subjects that interest them.
If you have experience of commercial grounds mainteneance, or simply enjoy pottering in your garden we would love you to join us. We have a very large site which takes a lot of tending from grass cuting to dead heading flowers it all needs doing.
The Village Tea room is an important part of the site. If you would like to volunteer just a few hours a week in the tea room we will give you the opportunity to develop new skills whilst making your time with us enjoyable.
If you would like the opportunity to volunteer in our shop we would love to show you round. The shop is the main entrance to the Museum so you will have the opportunity of meeting new people and gaining retail experience.
An important part of our visitors’ experience is the friendly greeting they receive and information regarding the Village Church Farm . If you are interested in history and enjoy meeting new people then this could be the role for you.
” as a volunteer I give up just a few hours a week to The Village. On the first day I was a little unsure as to what to do. I was met by another volunteer who showed me round the site and explained everything to me. I met some of the other volunteers who were very friendly and soon I felt part of the team. Now when new volunteers arrive it is me who shows them round and I love it here”
